Know more about this album
This recording’s originality lies in the fact that it features three masterpieces transcribed for string orchestra. Chausson’s “Poème” and Ravel’s “Tzigane” have been transcribed by David Walter. Performing all over the world as an oboist and member of the Moraguès Quintet, his interests lie in developing chamber music and teaching. In parallel with his career as a soloist and professor of oboe and chamber music at the Conservatoire National de Paris, he has produced several transcriptions considered to be authoritative.
- Ernest Chausson : Poème for violin and orchestra op. 25 / Transcribed for violin and string orchestra by David Walter
- Ernest Chausson : Concert for piano, violin and string quartet, in D major, op.21 / Version for string orchestra
- Maurice Ravel : Tzigane, Rhapsodie de concert for violin and orchestra / Transcribed for violin and string orchestra by David Walter
